The year was 1988. The rider was Han Rey. The sport was bicycle trials. Germany’s Hans “No Way†Rey was a world-class competitor in this poetic yet aggressive all-terrain discipline, and GT was his first American sponsor. With help from Hans and his XC MTB teammate Rishi Grewal, the GT All-Terra line was born. In the 20 years since, a lot has changed in the off-road scene. For starters, Hans gave up bicycle trials years ago to become a pioneer in aggressive freeriding. Rishi Grewal and fellow GT MTB legends like Juli Furtado moved on to make room for new-school players like Todd Wells, Jill Kitner and the multi-time national and world champion Brian Lopes. Through it all, two things have remained constant: Hans Rey still rides a GT, and the GT name is synonymous with performance.
In the ‘90s we took everything we learned in 20 years of off-road domination and applied it to the road bike scene. Today GT offers some of the lightest, stiffest, fastest and most compliant bikes ever to blaze a path on tarmac.
At GT, fast is corporate policy. Throughout our history, no one has pushed technology and performance harder or farther. From our earliest super lightweight chromoly and aluminum bikes to cutting-edge offerings in titanium and carbon fiber, every GT All-Terra machine has advanced bicycle technology to a higher level.
This year our relentless pursuit of velocity and performance continues. There’s only one way to keep up, and that’s to add our profile to your MySpace friends. In the months to come we’ll send bulletins about new products, team experiences, and cool events. Add us today and you might even win some exclusive GT prizes.
