Born on the 14th of Febuary, Ramon Johnson better known as "Rome" started out on the music scene making mix tapes from the basement of his parents house in Roselle NJ. while he was still in high school. After getting noticed by local residents and classmates DJing at house parties, he was given an oportunity to DJ a eighth grade dance party which eventually lead to him becoming the schools in house DJ for all of their events.Once "Rome" graduated from Abraham Clark High School in Roselle NJ, he went to Union County College in Cranford NJ to take up Radio Broadcasting. While in college, "Rome" began DJing for the schools very own radio station becoming the first to have his very own show, which allowed him to display his skills on the turntables. He also DJed a few of the on campus parties and to most who got the chance to witness the magic he displayed, they considered him to be the best in NJ.From the first time "Rome" layed hands on a turntable in 1994 to graduating from college in the year 2000 and DJing at all of the local colleges through out NJ (Rutgers, NJIT, UCC, ECC, Seaton Hall, Monclair State, ect.) he has made one of the most poweful impacts that an underground DJ could ever make. His professionalism and gracious skills has allowed him to not only DJ at some of NJ's most prestegious clubs, but he has also performed at many of NYC's biggest clubs through out Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronxs. For "Rome" this was just the beginning. He has also opened up for some of the industries biggest names such as DJ Funk Master Flex, Fat Joe, DJ Red Alert, The Lox, 3LW, and Biz Markie.After blowing up as a DJ and putting his name on the map as "DJ Rome" Ramon begain to take an intrest in music production and eventually begain banging out beats that only some one with the mind of a mad scientist could produce. While perfecting his production and editing skills he also begain to sharpen his lyrical talent as well. Now known as "Devine Mental" he posesses a mental that can not be compared. His beats are space age and hard hitting and his natural talent for spitting lyrics with out writing is like listening to the Notorious B.I.G and Jay-Z along with other influences spun together.Looking to further his talents as an unsigned artist/producer, "Devine Mental" is looking to work with the best up an comming artist in the buisness.
