Remixx was born Phillip Davis Jr. on September 14,1986 in Las Vegas, NV. He is the son of divorced parents; he is also the grandson of former NAACP President "Gene Collins", a very influential politician in the West Las Veas community and nephew to comedian "Lou Collins (BET Comicview, Nevada Partners)."
Growing up in the West Side community of Las Vegas, Remixx started his interest in music at age 9. During this age he performed his first rap in a black; a black history poem on the popular local radio station KCEP Power 88.1 during his enrollment at Matt Kelly Elementary in 1995. Remixx also grew up playing a variety of sports. He participated in the Southern Nevada Youth Football League (Pop Warner) most of his childhood. He also ran track (Las Vegas Stealth) and played baseball for his grandfathers baseball team at the Doolittle Community Center.
After his mother lost custody of him at age 11, he relocated to North Las Vegas and attented Swainston Middle School. He also was a member of Second Baptist Church, where he attented faithfully with his family until 2003. But the custoy change didn't make things better for him in his teenage years.
By the age of 16 and a sophomore in highschool, he started his journey into music full-time. After adjusting to the lifestyle of NLV and his fathers household, he was transferred from Cheyenne High School to the academic magnet school VoTech. Soon after changing schools, Remixx developed his interest in music production known as "beatmaking".
In 2004, Remixx graduated from VoTech High and moved out of his fathers home. After disregarding to pursue higher education, he dove head first into the streets. in 2005, he created his own entertainment company, Reddline Entertainment Music Group (REMG). Since then he has working with upcoming Las Vegas artist Sedrew Price, LandLord, 2Realist, Rugar Ric, JReady, Chy-B, The Lost Soundz Crew and many others. He also has affiliation and has worked with L.A. recording artist Dubb (Hoodz Finest) and Konvict Muzik/The Gang Ent recording artist Dolla (Who The F*** Is That) and works closely with Adam Licea (Eazy No Steroidz) who handles booking and marketing for Dolla.
Since creating his REMG imprint, he has produced hundreds of beats and has recorded more than ten dozen songs in his career. A native to Las Vegas, his main focus is to bring attention to the local music scene. "I just want my city to unite and come together and receive the same respect that Atlanta, Miama, L.A., and other cities have already received", he states.
Currently (2009), Remix is working on his solo debut "Motivation", scheduled for a Fall 09 release. Under his vision he is also working with recording artist JReady (CEO of Moneyville Ent) who has appeared on BET's 106 & Park. They have collaborated to showcase upcoming artist Chy-B and are currently working on the highly anticipated "Money Motivation" mixtape series.
With Las Vegas becoming one of the nations top entertainment and business cities, Remix is the future of the Las Vegas music scene, proving his city has more to offer than casinos and nightclubs!
