About Me
Established in Hawaii in 1995, Pyzel Surfboards specializes in creating ultra-high performance surfboards and always works to improve our designs to suit all different levels of surfer. We are based in our factory on Oahu's North Shore, but Jon Pyzel shapes around the world in California, Japan, and Europe. This allows us to fine tune designs for all kinds of waves, from mild (Japan), to nuts (Teahupoo!!).
We make boards for everyone, from top-level pros, to guys who just want to have a fun session down the street and everyone in between. We like to customize our models to suit the individual surfer and surf. All our boards are built "by sufers, for surfers", which means you will never get a pop-out from China or Viet-nam, only the real thing built by craftsman who have dedicated their lives to building boards!Over the years~Pyzel Surfboards have been ridden by an impressive list of surfers including: Ben Beurgouis,Dean Morrison,Chris Ward, Shane Beschen, Timmy Reyes, Archy, Noah Johnson, Mark Healey, Dave Wassel, Daniel Jones,Love Hodel,Noah Snyder, Trent, Pete, and Jack Johnson, Perry Dane, James Labrador, Ammion Goodwin, Tiago Pires, Davey Miller, , Chas Chidester, Shuji Kasuya, Dan, Chris and Keith Malloy, Crystal Dzigas, and many other up-and-comers in Hawaii. In the past year we have also been making boards for many top european surfers, including Ruben Gonslaves, Justin Musjica, Jaoa Guedes, Francisco Morais, Nicholau Van Rup, and many others. For the past ten years, Jon has also had the pleasure of making boards for John John Florence, helping fuel his progression from a 5-year-old beginner to the most incredibly talented young surfer of the next generation. Riding Pyzel boards, Florence has charged Pipeline, Sunset, and Waimea, and 'Chopes, towed into huge waves, won four NSSA National titles and countless contests, been the youngest competitor ever in the Triple Crown, and basically just blown minds with his surfing around the world. We are continuing with the evolution and improvement of our boards, keeping an open mind to new ideas and the many new directions that surfboard design can go. The possibilities are endless.
