Band Members: mr.phlit *other people step in and out but so far that has not occured* also... as soon as the art work for VOLUME 0 - *a retrospective* is finished... the people involved in that work will become honorary members of PHLIT seeing as how i look at the music and it's artwork as one whole peice.... i know mp3's may be the modern format and all that malarky... i admittedly have an ipod... but who out there who was born before the 90's can claim that when they were little... holding a vinyl in your hands... putting on the table... and letting yourself get lost in the pictures said vinyl came in held sum kind of magic... and fuck... would tool be half as cool if their artwork didn't rock your socks off? really... ask yourself.
Influences: life, nature, love, the usual... i gotta' say that alot of really EARLY electro has had a great influence on me... we're talkin' vangelis *pre-blade runner* jean michel jarre, old school prog-rock gets me off like yes and peter gabriel era genesis, and a bit of king crimson never hurt anyone, BJORK!!!! i grew up in the north of england during the trip hop revolution as well so theres plenty of tricky portishead and massive attack floating around in these veins, NOISE! skinny puppy, aphex, squarepusher, plaid, boards of canada, chris clark or clark as he's now known, throbbing gristle, these are all just spring boards really though - anyone who cares about art *sorry to sound pretentious* knows that if you're truly going to be worth a pinch of salt you need to sound like yourself so... mostly i try to just use what i know about music to make an emotion tangible... the songs on here aren't really too terribly good at showing that yet so stick around for joy
