Executive Vice-President, Creative Affairs, UMPG. Tom Sturges is a music publisher who stared as a songplugger at Arista, giving Huey Lewis the song “Heart & Soul.â€. Except for a brief stint running Shaquille O’Neil’s TWISM label, Tom has maintained a career in Music Publishing. At Screen Gems, Sturges signed Katrina & The Waves as well as a team signing of The Red Hot Chili Peppers. As President of Chrysalis Music, he signed the Smashing Pumpkins and OutKast. At UMPG, his signings have included 3 Doors Down, Vanessa Carlton, 50 Cent & G-Unit, Blink 182, Jack Johnson, and Baby Bash. In addition, Tom has been a member of NARAS for over twenty years.
