About Me

This is the profile for ANOMALY in Los Angeles, California. ANOMALY is a full service hair and makeup salon, body piercing studio, upscale apparel boutique, and fine art gallery.
Our piercing department uses only the highest quality (Everybody says that right? We will back it up, no shame telling you where we get our jewelry from: Integrity Body Jewelry, SM316, Anatometal and Body Vision predominantly.) internally threaded body jewelry. If it doesn't meet some kind of bio-compatibility standards, we refuse to pierce with it. Most of our initial piercings are done with Titanium (not Steel) that meets the ASTM F-136 implantation standard. We specialize in most piercings, but if something seems unsafe or not able to be healed we have no problem informing you beforehand. Surface piercings, Microdermal anchors, Navels, Nipples, Tongues, Eyebrows, even Genital piercings. We bring you the safest, most knowledgeable piercers so that you may become the adorned person you always wanted to be.
Our Hair and Makeup Team are like none other. They have been involved in still photo shoots, print advertisements, independent films, and even large budget promotional commercials. They work on location at runway fashion shows, and yet you can still book time with them here at the salon. We carry Joico (the same used by the stylist for American Idol) products for retail sale and use the same. You're in the best hands possible when you sit in one of our stylist's chairs.
Our Apparel section continues to grow with every day. We currently stock some of the finest hats ever made. Christy's Hats of England is a 200 year old hat company whose designs and manufacturing quality have been appreciated by celebs and royalty alike. In stock you will find an array of caps, jockey caps, fedoras, and military caps some very elegant and others with a raw urban street feel. Farmer Jeans, a Los Angeles based denim company who also has a few celebs on their customer roster, are now in stock in both men's and women's sizes. You may have seen their designs in the movie Capote. We are very fortunate to have many handmade, one of a kind pieces in the showroom by Rico Defile (check out his myspace page in our top buddies section). Whether it is a shirt, skirt, dress, or handbag, no one represents this area of Los Angeles like Defile. We have a limited amount of Defile men's pieces too, button up shirts with sweater sleeves and original printed t-shirts. And that's not all, some of the cutest handmade scarves from Lost Star Crochet, the last in the line of infamous Ruby King street wear, and we definitely can't forget to mention Mike Dimas Originals. It's all worth every penny.
Not always last, and definitely not least is our Fine Art Gallery. We spend copious amounts of time putting together the absolute best group shows for your viewing enjoyment. All artwork is available for purchase, and buyers get a special invitation to our quarterly invite-only parties. We represent the finest artists that LA has to offer with free opening receptions on the second Friday of every month. Some past contributors include Alix Radford Large, Brad Burkhart, Joey Remmers, Tyler Floren, Chantal Menard, Joshua P. Davis, Leo Ziebol, .ruinsoncemore., and once again Rico Adair/Defile. If you're in the Los Angeles area on the second Friday of any month, stop in and enjoy yourself. Perhaps you'll find that piece of art that you can't live without.
