About Me

Frankie Competelli of Frankie’s on Melrose, will bring the Italian-American experience to life through The Feast of The Blessed Mother Mary.
As the city of Santa Clarita grows, so expands our diversity. Once solely inhabited by the Tataviam Indians, a variety of peoples and cultures now call SCV their home. It is to the benefit of our community when those of diverse background choose to share their traditions.
This June 6th through 8th, a family of third generation Italians will bring the Italian-American experience to life through The Italian Feast. Modeled after The Feast of San Gennaro, an event that draws over 100,000 visitors over four days, The Feast of The Blessed Mother Mary is intended to promote family fun through music, delicious Italian food and culture.
For The Feast of San Gennaro, LA co-founder and President Frankie Competelli, coordinates vendors and businesses interested in promoting their products and services for the Feast of San Gennaro events. This year, he and his daughters, Teresa and Rosemary, will co-produce The Feast of the Blessed Mother in an effort to give back to their own community, Santa Clarita. It’s their intention that through the Feast, fellow community members will enjoy first hand the many contributions Italian Americans have made to American culture.
The City of Santa Clarita and Westfield Valencia Town Center have committed their support for this exciting event. Local businesses and organizations are being offered the opportunity to participate as sponsor and enjoy the benefits of media exposure and networking possibilities in a setting where residents and visitors to Santa Clarita come to share in the Italian American cultural experience.
Plans for the event include more than 20 vendor booths, making available food, beverages (including a cocktail bar), and merchandise, much of which will be Italian themed. Nonprofit booths will be donated in exchange for their contribution to a designated Kids Korner.
Out of his love for children and reverence of the family, Frankie Competelli has provided for a designated area to be set aside for children at no charge. Rides, games and activities will create an experience to be remembered. Every child wins.
What’s a feast without entertainment? A community stage will be open to local groups and high schools to schedule music, drama and dance performances. Nightly headliners will feature Italian American entertainers. Strolling musicians and street performers will mull through the crowd, setting a festive pace over the grounds.
There will be many opportunities for charitable donation, including raffles and a silent auction. The Italian Feast opens the doors for local businesses to interface with the public in a joyful setting of fun, food and celebration.
