I am Heather Lyle, the lead vocalist and co-band leader of an incredible eight piece band, The Bluecat Express. I am also a singing teacher and certified Fitzmaurice teacher, the leading voice work for actors, today. The Bluecat Express has been together for seven years. We play New Orleans jazz, swing, blues and straight ahead jazz, even some Latin now and then. The original idea of the band was to reproduce all the types of music that you might hear in all the bars on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. We have gradually been building steam and were super excited to open The Playboy Jazz Festival last year with a concert in Beverly Hills. 2006's highlight was playing at the Jacksonville Jazz Festival in Florida. We followed T. S., Monk and Carmen Lundy followed us. Awesome! Herbie Hancock was also on the bill and it was really exciting to get to meet him. The Bluecat Express was one of four groups featured in the Jacksonville Times along with Herbie, Ramsey Lewis, and Kenny G. I can't think of any better press! To be included with jazz super stars was such an honor. Keep checking our gig list and come on out and see us. We are at The Biltmore Gallery Bar every month in down town L.A.________________________________________________________
