JOHN NICOLOSI grew up in the Susquehanna River Valley in Pennsylvania and graduated from Susquehanna University, Selinsgrove, PA in 1977 with a degree in Music Education. Nicolosi majored in trombone which he started playing in 5th grade. He also took piano lessons in his earlier years and began writing songs throughout his college years at Susquehanna. In addition, as a member of the University Jazz Ensemble, he acquired a keen appreciation of the impact of jazz and blues on our country’s culture.
Nicolosi continued to develop his songwriting skills through the 70s, 80s, and 90s. He began dabbling at home recording in the early 90s, recording his original music. In 2001, John produced his first full length audio cd project, GOIN’ STRONG which includes 16 original songs produced in his Pennsylvania studio. In 2001, he left Pennsylvania and founded Niko Records Studio in Clarksville, TN, 50 miles northwest of Nashville. To date Nicolosi has produced, recorded, and engineered nearly 300 artists from all over the United States. As a musical arranger and keyboardist, he has played a key role in the final results of many of the musical arrangements produced at the studio.
