L'approccio con la musica non lo ricordo essendo che credo di esserci stata sempre a stretto contatto sin da quando ho memoria.... A 17 anni in quel di Palermo inizio l'esperienza live. Prima band della mia vita.....tutti ancora un pò acerbi ed inesperti, riusciamo a mettere su una decina di brani con sonorità tra Sonic Youth and il grunge di Seattle (padrone assoluto di quegli anni). Nascono quindi gli STURM UND DRANG, (1994) prima band palermitana con voce femminile. L'entusiasmo generale, sia nostro che dei sostenitori a seguito, ci permette di esibirci in vari locali, festival etc etc.... Naturalmente, come tutte le band che si rispettino (e perchè una frase come questa è sempre presente in ogni biografia....) la band cambia diversi componenti, tra cui vantammo anche la presenza di Antonio Macchiarella (voce dei Filthy Sunday Circus) al basso, Giovanni Ziino (Crazy Coffe Cup, Loaders, Dale Rocka and the volcanos) alla batteria, e Paolo Gurgone (Session 8, Cheech Skaos) dopo Antonio, al basso. Varie vicissitudini e un momento di pausa fanno si che il progetto cambi nome, influenze musicali e componenti. Lì inizia il periodo musicale più bello della mia vita: MERRYGOROUND.....punk-pop band con alla chitarra il mio caro fratello, adesso noto come B-Sucker… (Nullafacenti, Tagliamidettagli, Kali Yuga, Semprefreski, F.U.G.) e Ciccio Bonaccorso alla batteria (Magilla Gorilla, Session8). Varie demo, un 7” split con i Semprefreski, svariate compilations, ci portano ad esibirci un po’ ovunque per qualche anno, con esibizioni live di “grande impatto” ……. :-D :-D.Ogni cosa bella che si rispetti deve avere una fine, e così anche questa. Nel 2003 mi trasferisco a Torino, dove canto con i THE ART OF ZAPPING per due anni. Dopo l’uscita del disco “Volume 3”, torno alla mia bella isola (eh si…....come ebbe a dire qualcuno “i live by the ocean” !!!! ) dove vivo tutt’ora, vedendo crescere con felicità la scena musicale e varie, nuove realtà. I first began singing and playing live in Palermo at the age of 17. The first band in my life. Everyone was still a bit green behind the ears, but we managed to put together a dozen tracks with a sound somewhere between Sonic Youth and the grunge of Seattle (the absolute masters of those years). In that way STURM UND DRANG came to life, (1994), the first Palermitan band with a female voice. The general enthusiasm, both ours and our followers, enabled us to appear in various pubs, clubs and festivals etc. Naturally, like all self respecting bands, the group changed form over the years and boasted the presence of Antonio Macchiarella (Filthy Sunday Circus) on bass, Giovanni Ziino (Crazy Coffee Cup, Loaders, Dale Rocka and the Volcanos) on drums, and Paolo Gurgone (Session 8, Cheech Skaos), after Antonio, on bass. Various ups and downs and a moment of pause brought about a change of name, musical influence and people. At that point the most beautiful musical period of my life began with MERRYGOROUND...a punk-pop band with my dear brother, now known as B-Sucker (Nullafacenti, Tagliamidettagli, Kali Yuga, Semprefreski, F.U.G.) on guitar and Ciccio Bonaccorso on drums (Magilla Gorilla, Session8). Various demos, a 7” split with Semprefreski, an assortment of compilations, took us just about everywhere for a few years, with live performances of great impact. :-D :-D. Well, all good things must come to an end, and so did that. In 2003 I went to live in Turin, where I sang with THE ART OF ZAPPING for two years. After the release of the record “Volume 3”, I returned to my beautiful island (ah, yes…as someone once said, “I live by the ocean”!!!!) where I now live, blissfully observing changes and developments in the music scene and new aspects of life. At the moment I work alone at home, writing and giving life to my ideas with a guitar, music programmes and microphone. I don’t know what will come of it all, or where it will lead to…all I do know is that I’m here on this earth to play music, and that is what I’ll do for as long as I live. ROCK’ N’ ROLL!!!
