READYS’ DETOUR

About Me

READYS’ DETOURThe READYS’ DETOUR concept was brought about in the fall of 1972 as a result of the working relationship between Cass “HOLLYWOOD” Teague Jr. and “READY”. The group delivered an electrifying show that was grounded in the hard driving soul, r&b and funk of the times. Performing on shows at Tennessee State University, The Jail nightclub and other venues in the Nashville area READYS’ DETOUR further distinguished itself by featuring female instrumentalist (not common at this time).READYS’ DETOUR currently performs in the Richmond, Va. area. The group primarily performs original compositions (contemporary jazz, old school r&b and funk) and custom arrangements (contemporary gospel, contemporary jazz, old school r&b and funk) that feature blazing hot horn lines and primal grooves.“READY”If you march to the beat of the “different drummer”, then you definitely want to check out the musical renderings of “READY”. READYS’ hot music tracks were instrumental in securing record deals for his group (SECRET/ZIII) with Airwave Records and Warner Brothers Records. He has written music arrangements that have been performed by dynamic groups such as The Tennessee State University “Aristocrat of Bands” and the George Wythe High School for The Performing Arts marching (“Bulldog Express”) band and jazz (“Express Jazz”) band. READY is affectionately called “Q” by his contemporaries and also called the “Rod Serling” of music. If you want a musical different point of view, then be on the look out for more from "READYS'DETOUR".
