Save Our Strays in the Tri-State is a non-profit rescue group in the Cincinnati, OH area. We don't have a shelter, so we rely upon our wonderful volunteers to foster cats and dogs in their homes. We also have use of the cages at the Petsmart in Oakley, OH (on Ridge Rd.), where we hold adoptathons every Saturday from 10:30-3. There are many cats and kittens for you to see there every day of the week though, so please stop by for a visit if you're looking to adopt! To see our other cats and dogs, those not at Petsmart, visit our official website at www.soscats.org.
If you think you would like to volunteer with Save Our Strays, please send us a message! We always need FOSTERS desperately, as well as people to work at the adoptathons, fundraising etc. etc.
We've added a quick and easy new way to make a donation to SOS! Just click our Paypal button below.
Save Our Strays is also heavily involved in Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) for feral cats. For those who don't know, TNR is for those kitties who have never been socialized and fear humans, and are therefore very difficult to adopt into a regular home. For these cats, we make sure they are altered so they cannot continue to reproduce, test them for feline leukemia and FIV, microchip them for future identification and vaccinate them against common feline diseases - then we release them where they were trapped (in most cases) and make sure they have a caretaker to feed them and look after any needs they may have. If you have a stray cat or colony of cats in your neighborhood, send us a message. We can usually help! And to learn more about TNR and feral colony management, visit Alley Cat Allies .
Don't have time or money to spare right now? You can help another way! When you're searching for something on the net, instead of Google, go to www.goodsearch.com and enter Save Our Strays (the one in Cincinnati, OH is us!) as the charity you wish to support. Everytime you search for anything through their site, they will donate a penny to help the kitties! It may not sound like much, but every little bit helps!
