I am Jeff Cohlman, a drummer/singer/writer/actor/director type guy who started Fremont's own funk thrash band Bud Court (myspace.com/budct) with Wyatt Tungate in 1994. After our first guitar player got laid and lost his mind, Ian Carstairs filled the void with his solid, practiced skills. This magical connection captured the hearts of of the greater bay area and took us to mystical locations like San Jose.At the peak of minor local stardom Bud Court split up in 1997 and I moved to Los Angeles to play with a number of bands that were "gonna make it" until I moved back to the bay and convinced Wyatt and Ian to reform Bud Court in 1999, It failed miserably but paved the way for the short lived "Delicious" with Ian on guitar, myself on the drums and a nubile Grant Shellon on the bass. That project lasted for the length of one live show at the B street bistro and went dark in early '99.During this split I had moved to San Francisco and joined forces with guitarist extrordinaire Sonny Walker (myspace.com/sonnywalker). Together we created Sonny Walker's Tao of Rock featuring Turbo, a two person street/dance rock band with late 70's rock riffs mixed with motown style beats:Suddenly Ian called me and had the idea that Bud Court should try again, you know, "third times a charm". After recording the epic two disc album titled Broken street light/Alligator dentist the band again broke up after two shows and the album was never released.I then joined San Francisco based Disastroid led by Enver Konea and played straight-up rock and roll for six months. One show and two studio recordings later I was fired from the project. I hate those guys. (myspace.com/disastroid (they're bad-ass))The previous live cuts from this site were recorded shortly after my failed marriage and pressed onto an album titled: With No Love, Turbo. An all live album I recorded by myself in the basement at bud court. "Boyfriend Season", "Margo" and "Gititon" were written during my short stint as lead song creator for those thieving deaddoggs known as Boobie Alarm Clock, but more recently I have been producing new trax under the name The Loyal One for my latest album entitled "The Last Bastian of Anything Possible".UPDATE!: I was playing drums for the misunderstood but highly talented band Spandex Tiger (myspace.com/spandextiger). I have since disbanded from them to move southward. Please see them live, you will be smarter for having done so.UP-UPDATE!!!! I have moved to Hollywood and have played with lots of great undiscovered talent! Check out The Deceivers (myspace.com/thedeceivers) and their dirty brand of down home country meets nirvana meets a bar fight in a small city music. Also swim in the eclectic styles of The AGNESS TWIN PROJECT with the twisted lullabye vocal styles of Hellisa on the vocals and custom double neck formica plated guitar.UP-UP-UPDATE! Currently I am proud to say I have teamed up with singer-songwriter extrodinaire JONNEINE ZAPATA and her amazing band. We will play a sixteen date national tour opening for Mark Lanagen's newest off-shoot band "The Soulsavers" (myspace.com/soulsavers). His latest album features one of my personal faves Mike Patton amongst others. We will most likely be playing in your city so get off your keister meester and come see a great new act that I am honored to be a part of.UP-UP-UP-UPDATE! The tour that I thought would be an honor to be a part of was nothing but an insufferable bout of tongue biting as the "not so extra-ordinary" Jonneine Zapata spouted bile and insults from every gross orifice of her body for the entire month of September.I am working hard to sweep up all the disgusting pieces this woman has left me with and will be releasing some new jams soon.UP-UP-UP-UPDATE!!!!! I am currently playing drums for the energetic and incredibly fun TASSO (www.myspace.com/tassocat). Were like the reverse white stripes and since were both coming from SF we'll be shooting up the arteries of Ca. quite frequently, so.....Keep it on the table y'all and watch these movies, Foo!!
