When you hear of Alaska, the first thing that probably comes to your mind is snow and eskimos; but Taye is on a mission to put Alaska on the map in another light. Born November 20, 1988 as Dante' Vereen , this Anchorage, Alaska native started rapping in 2007 after graduating from high school. Still currently residing in "Double A," Taye has two things on his mind: feeding his family and becoming the best."I rap about everything [I've] been through and everything I want to do. I could rap to a crunk song, snap song, hyphy song, R&B song---Sh** if country had a tight beat [I'd] rap to [that too]," says Taye about his rap style. His goals in music include being the first rapper to blow out of Alaska, and to have everyone--black, white, asian, mexican,and etc. loving my music," as he put it. With influences such as T.I., Lil Boosie, Webbie, Lil Wayne, Mr. Lucci, Pleasure P, T-pain, and Young Jeezy, Taye has a aspirations of diamond status on his album sales.One year into the game, Taye already has an indie label, TruBallin Entertainment, underway, a mixtape in circulation, "King of Alaska" (February 2008), and he is working on his second one entitled "Da Massacre" which is due out in the middle of July dis year. He has also performed at a jacksonville, Florida music summit (December 2007) in the company of some of the most recognized upcoming artists in the state of Florida.
