My Interests

Music:

Band Website: www.cecilialong.com
Band Members: I am very lucky to perform with so many wonderful jazz musicians. I have gigged with Buster Williams at the East Coast Jazz Festival; Nasser Abadey, Paul Dorr, Buck Hill, Aaron Walker, Raz Kennedy, Dave Roakeach and many others. My band members are always the best musicians for any particular gig. One of the things I love about jazz is its fluidity.
Influences: Nina Simone, Sarah Vaughn, Pearl Bailey, Billie Holiday, Charlie Parker, Chet Baker, Billy Eckstein, Morgana King, Blossom Dearie. Aretha Franklin, Leslie Uggams, Bessie Smith, Ella Fitzgerald, Helen Humes, Ronnie Wells, Etta Jones
Sounds Like: I have been told that my phrasing is like Carmen McRae. Others have likened me to Sarah Vaughn, Dinah Washington, and singing the blues like Bessie Smith. My sound is uniquely my own!
