GAMBONA (Eduardo Da Silva Quintian), natural of Rio Grande (RS), liveing currently in Porto Alegre (RS).
Self-taught person, with more than twenty and five years of musical career, he lived in São Paulo (where he had the first contacts with the guitar), Paraná and Santa Catarina. Between 1997 and 1998 he travelled for the U.S.A, Spain and Portugal, where he had contacts with local musicians and participated of several jams of blues and rock.
Beyond participating of some bands of blues, rock, folk, pop and instrumental, he followed diverse singers and composers, he also took part of jam-sessions with Big Allambick, Blues EtÃlicos, Fernando Noronha & Black Soul, André Christóvam, Andy Boy, Nivaldo Ornellas, Robertinho Silva and Ary Piassarollo.
In 2001, he recorded and launched the intitled CD “Gambona†with a blues noise, and a fort rock musician accent, beyond instrumental and acoustic subjects of high quality technique. In 2004, in Porto Alegre, he participated of 4ª edition of the Natu Nobilis Blues Festival, in the bar Opinion.
His musical base is the bands of rock of years 60 and 70, Texas, Chicago and Delta Blues, country, folk, jazz and guitarists as: Robert Johnson, T-Bone Walker, Albert King, B.B.King, Johnny Winter, Rory Gallagher, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Tommy Bolin, Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Duanne Allman, Dickey Betts, Robben Ford, John Scofield, Wes Montgomery, Warren Haynes, Ry Cooder and Zakk Wylde.
Currently he is finishing his second CD, following the same footprint of the first one, touching with the “Gambona Blues Projectâ€, where he executes classics of blues and rock, beyond proper compositions and also his acoustic project, where alone, but with a steel acoustic guitar and harmonica, he transits for blues, folk and rock, with a well personal and proper style.
