She is one of most promising kathak exponent with outstanding brilliance. She is trained in traditional Jaipur style by the eminent Guru Pt. Sh. Rajendra Gangani. With long years of intensive training, she has complete command in presenting idioms of pure dance, has flawless footwork, padhant, layakari etc.
Apart from dance, she is outstanding in academics too. A graduate from Delhi University and completed her P.G Diploma in Radio and T.V Production from Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan.
She is a Diploma holder from Kathak Kendra, New delhi and now, she has completed her P.G course of Kathak dance under the tutelaje of Sh. Rajendra Gangani(Torchbearer of Jaipur Gharana) in kathak kendra. She is a scholarship holder of kathak kendra.
She has performed all over India in different events like Surya Festival, Natyanjali Festival, Yuva Mahotsava, Kathak Mahotsava, Dikshant Mahotsava, Taj Mahotsava, Mudra Festival, Alva's Virasat, Chidambaram Festival
She has worked with eminent Gurus like Shovana Narayan, Uma sharma, Gitanjali Lal, Malti Shyam, Kishan Mohan Mishra and many more.
She has also visited Indonesia(Jakarta) for "The Festival of India Diwali Celebration".
She has performed in "The Cultural Festival" of Thailand(Bangkok) sponsored by Indian Airlines.
Has performed in "The Music & Dance Festival" of Doha(Qatar) sponsored by Ritz Carlton.
She has also got empanelment in the ICCR's refernce pannel of artists and the graded artist from Doordarshan.
Teaching in Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, ITO as a Kathak Guru.
Being a superb solo dancer, Sonia has a potential of doing experiments with another forms of dances.
For consecutive three years, she has performed in Mythological Ballets of Sri Ram Bhartiya Kala Kendra playing the roles of Sita, Radha, Kaykai, Draupadi, etc.
She has proven her caliber by playing the character of "Amrapali" in Kuchipudi style of dance(being a Kathak Dancer) in a Ballet, Baajat Anhad Naad organised by Mystic Art Circle.
She had also performed in The Republic Day Parade on the Tableau of Madhya Pradesh.
