Palm Beach Gardens--A 43-year-old woman is in critical condition Saturday after a multi-car crash that occurred about 8 a.m. Saturday on Military Trail south of Northlake Boulevard, police said.
Police said John Perkins, 56, of Palm Beach Gardens, was driving a 1994 Mercury Marquis northbound on Military Trail approaching a red light at Northlake Boulevard with five cars already stopped at it.
He crashed into the rear of a 1999 Toyota driven by Molly Swaby, who lives west of West Palm Beach, without braking, which caused a chain reaction of crashes with the other cars, police said.
Swaby was in critical condition Saturday evening at St. Mary's Medical Center. Perkins suffered minor injuries.
The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed.
