Neil... were formed late in 2001 after Ben & Martin decided that instead of just recording tunes in Bens dining room they would take their songs to the stage. They hail from Tynemouth near Newcastle Upon Tyne and also Blyth. Martins brother Tim was recruited on bass guitar and a mutual friend of Ben and Martins called Peter(Mr Evil Breakfast/Dangling Nancies) joined on the drums. Peter was later replaced by Adam Martin who is a friend of Martin, Ben & Tim from College. Not much happened with the band apart from a headline gig at The Cluny with support from The Futureheads. Neil... recruited their dear friends Jack, Jed & Robin from Tynemouth band Mos Eisley (now The Motorettes) to help out on their last song of the set 'Death of the Sun 2' which ended with a head splitting mass of noise which sounded like the end of the world! The band managed to get into the studio to do a spot of recording in 2002. They chose to goto 1st Ave in Heaton and get some help off Dave Curle. The recording was never released. The track listing for the E.P was:1. November
2. Claudios Brother
3. Sad SallyThe band eventually split up in 2003 after Ben and Martin realised that they despised one another. The ends of Martins guitar strings would occasionally get stuck up Bens nostrils while on stage. This would send Ben into a fit of rage and he would jab Martin in the side with his Theramin. Please find space in your heart for this band as they would have done the same for you.
