Afropean Soul are DJs Delite & DanzaWe play the best in deep / soulful house, neo-soul and 80's funk & soul.Delite was buying records from the age of 10 and started DJing when he was 16 after a friend (Hugo, who was a DJ) did a tape for him, and then gave me a go on his turntables. After that, he got bit by the bug and got some turntables of my own. After teaching him for a while, Hugo introduced me to Doctor D, one of the top DJ's in the city at the time. He took his DJ skills to the next level, and they would DJ in most of the clubs and bars in Nottingham. A few years later Delite formed a group called 3:6 Philly and released two records on ZOOM Records; THOSE FLAGS OFFEND ME & FUNKY ALCOHOL. He left the group and stopped DJing for a few years and was bit by the bug again a few years ago when he covered for a friend by playing for him at REVOLUTION in Leicester. For the past year he's been spinning with Danza under the name Afropean SoulDanza’s love for music started at an early age due to his Father’s massive collection of early 80’s and 70’s Soul and Motown music. This love for music and sharing his passion for music was quite clear to his parents, so at the age of 14 an overjoyed Danza received a pair of belt drive turntables for Christmas. From this point Danza would use all his paperound money to buy various types of music from hip hop to UK Garage, and also had his own show on his school radio. Danza was officially addicted to music with soul.Still not sure of the path he wanted to take with his music, at the age of 16 Danza was offered an opportunity to join an R’n’B group with a few friends, always fascinated by the production and writing side of music Danza agreed and saw this as an opportunity to be creative. The group (Grounded) were snapped up and moved to London by Richard Park (Fame Academy) almost instantly after recording a few demo’s, and later after leaving Park signed a recording contract with Platinum Records. Grounded released one single “I Need a Girl†on Platinum before going their separate ways.Whilst in Grounded Danza had the opportunity to write and co-produce with many talented producers one of which was Dom Navarra of accomplished House Act Sueno Soul. Hearing the Soulful and Latin house music which Dom played in breaks from recording inspired Dan to look further into this genre and as soon as he did, he was hooked.Upon his return to Nottingham Danza has teamed up with accomplished DJ, Delite and they now play Deep / Soulful House under the name Afropean Soul. Delite has helped Danza fine tune his techniques and the two DJ’s styles truly complement each other.
