Turns out, my Mom was right after all... Time does really fly by the older you get. She was right about a lot of things but being the hardheaded child I am, I had to learn it all on my own. Was a painful, tedious process but here I am - in my 40's - before I realized how short life really is. Now I try to remember to thank God for every day - and to live each day to the fullest. Appreciate those in your life. Do something nice for someone you don't even know - hold the door open for someone who has their hands full, smile at the girl who is being a bitch behind the counter, give your next server extra tip, drag your neighbors' garbage can up from the street to their house. There are a million ways to reach out and you never know the repercussions of small acts of kindness.
Thank you, Jean, for being 'the one'. You are my favorite human being!! Brilliant, gorgeous, compassionate, sensitive, gorgeous...(oh, did I already say gorgeous?!?) I am so proud of who you are!
