Yuri´s Little Sister haben sich unterwegs getroffen. Unterwegs zu richtiger Musik. Diese drei Jungs haben eine Frisur – aber vor allem haben diese Jungs Rock im Blut. Kein Wunder also, dass diese Jungs sich Yuri´s Little Sister nennen. Yuri´s Little Sister denken an sich – obwohl auch sie sich haben beeinflussen lassen: Raging Honkies, Steve Salas und Foo Fighters, aber auch Red Hot Chili Peppers, Police und Led Zeppelin sind Daniel Splitt (Vocals), Heiko Jung (Drums) und Werner Neumann (Guitar) nicht fremd. Warum denn auch nicht? Denn gerade weil sie sich musikalisch bei Blues, R&B, Crunge und Crossover trafen, fanden sie schnell den gemeinsamen Nenner – und der ist nicht klein, er heißt nur so: Yuri´s Little Sister. Daran führt für sie kein Weg mehr vorbei. Yuri´s Little Sister ist der Weg – der Richtige. Richtige Jungs, richtige Musik, richtiger Ausdruck und richtige Live-Präsenz.
»Secret Melody«, das Debutalbum, haben Yuri´s Little Sister 2008 mit Alex Martin produziert und beim Leipziger Indielabel Type G Records veröffentlicht. Damit ist der Weg von Yuri´s Little Sister öffentlich. Und die Jungs nehmen jeden mit, der am Wegesrand wartet: auf richtige, echte Musik, die im Kopf bleibt, in die Beine geht und einen den Wegesrand vergessen lässt.

Yuri´s Little Sister is a german alternativ rockband formed in Leipzig / Germany in the summer of 2006. YLS started playing the tunes of Stevie Salas and Raging Honkies, and arranging Beatles songs into a more rocky style. Early on, however, they decided to begin writing original stuff which could fit better into their concept of powerful but still melodic crossover music. In the tradition of trios like Hendrix or the Police, YLS tended to create a more modern R&B - Rock - Crossover sound like the Honkies, Salas or the Foo Fighters. After working for one year on the new songs, YLS recorded thirteen of them for their first album. The music of YLS is built mainly around the voice of Daniel Splitt, the singer and bassplayer of the band. Guitarist Werner Neumann shares the composing work with Daniel, and both write the lyrics. At the beginning, Paul Tetzlaff, who also joined the band of Clueso that time, was playing drums. Since March, 2008, Heiko Jung has taken Paul's place, who was too busy with his other projects to stay in the group. YLS is also influenced by the late Led Zeppelin as well as Chili Peppers and Living Color. The band's varied musical style has fused traditional rock and funk with various elements of heavy metal, punk, jazz and blues. Improvisation is a major part of the band's signature style. It's based on the Jazz- and Blues background of YLS. We write about love (above the limit), fear (I won't go), fight and war (keep on searching). But also there are songs about encouragement (fly high, never stop).
