Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Ty Harrell was singing since his childhood but began his musical career in 1998 performing at the Au Pan Café with Jazz artist Pucci Amanda Jhones. After receiving Associate and Bachelor Degrees in Business Administration and Business Management from Johnson & Wales University and SUNY Old Westbury he performed more frequently. To broaden his horizons he then joined the New York Metro Mass Choir, a multi-faith, inter-racial ensemble, where he's entertained audiences at Town Hall, The Winter Garden, Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, with the choir hes sung behind some of the best in the business including dance diva Martha Wash, and singer songwriter Beth Nielsen Chapman. As a solo artist he's sung his self penned ballads at countless venues such as The Elbow Room, Soul Café, Club Groove, Downtime, Tammany Hall and The Bitter End and most recently Ashford & Simpsons Sugar Bar. On top of that he has successfully hosted Sound Off a music showcase with founder Glenn Mann and backed up various independent artists. He has also appeared on both Good Morning America & NBC Today Show. He later went into acting, starring in a short film "Everything is Everything" written & directed by Glenn Mann and had a small roll in the off broadway comedy "No class". His varied experience singing R&B, Gospel and Jazz accounts for his seemingly effortless transitions from tender ballads to light pop to dance grooves. Harrell's voice has been described as warm, soulful, yet velvety smooth. His down to earth demeanor and witty sense of humor make him an audience favorite. Ty is currently working on material for his new album.src="http://apps.rockyou.com/images/tail_view.gif"
