Award-Winning Bassist: 2006 Blues Foundation (W.C. Handy) Award Winner "Best New Artist", 2005 XM Satellite Radio" Best New Blues Artist", 2005 All Access Magazine"Best Blues Group/Artist", 2004 International Blues Challenge "1st Place Band". As a Venice Beach native with Seattle roots, Dug Mug Swanson has established himself as a songwriter, bassist and vocalist in the Los Angeles Rock Scene. He was born in Seattle WA and graduated from Venice High School. He grew up surfing at the Venice Breakwater and began playing guitar at the age of 10 in McCabes guitar shop(when it was called the 8TH Note) Picked up the Bass at the age of 19 in Arizona. Dug Mug has played with some of the best in Blues/Rock, as well as having co-produced and played on numerous recordings. His accomplishments include performing at the 2004 Playboy Jazz Festival at the Hollywood Bowl. Stature of bassist in the house band at Babes and Ricky's Inn (L.A.'s oldest blues club), having backed some of the greats: Keb-Mo, Guitar Shorty, Joe Houston, Finis Tasby, Jackson Browne, Denny Freeman, Kid Ramos, Otis Taylor, Anson Funderburgh w/ Sam Myers, Dave Alvin, Ry Cooder, Tommy Castro, Billy Idol among others. Favorite bassists include Cliff Burton, Berry Oakley, Noel Redding, Keith Ferguson, Johnny Bazz, John Doe, Willie weeks(Y'all). Moreover Dug Mug has appeared in Green Day's award winning video, "Time of Your Life" Good Riddance. Performed at The Native American Awards w/ John Trudell, Floyd Red Crow Westerman and Reservations throughout California. Professionally toured Europe, Japan, Tahiti, Canada, and the Caribbean Islands.DUG MUG DOES NOT ENDORSE ANY MICROPHONES, GUITARS, BASSES, AMPS, STRINGS, TENNIS SHOES, CLOTHING, ANYTHING OR ANYONE.
