I try to see the world as as a place where life is meant to happen... By that I mean unpredictable, vibrant, and indiscriminant. I've learned the hard way that no one person is better than another, from a King to a Coke addict groveling in the streets. Each have their problems, their desires, strengths and weaknesses, and have only come in to their current situations through indiscriminant events. This world favors no one, whether they think it or not, and can bury you in an instant. On the other hand, anything can happen that may yet lift you up higher than you ever imagined. I say, have pride in who you are and let your true friends share your burden because sometimes they are the only things you can rely on to be constant. If you have no true friends, then still have pride in yourself and never stop trying, and if you cannot bring yourself to have pride, then take comfort in the fact that everybody else has issues too which may well be worse than even you could imagine.
