Last summer was quite a dry one. Trees sagged, bearing the burden of the scorching summer heat. The weeping willows were not alone, as all their tree brothers and sisters joined them in bowing their lifeless branches to the dusty surface of the earth. Sicadas filled the dead air with a dull humming sound, as they hid under the protection of rampant thistles and thorns. Flames threatened to lick up from the dry underbrush of the foothills constantly. Mountain lions swept the lower region of the foothills of South San Jose, listening for the relieving trickle of vivacious, fresh, moving water...or meat. Hobos stayed in the shade of their rocks of refuge that felt soothingly cool to the touch... blah blah blah... I think we get the idea.
Anyway, at this point, chocolate airplane, as Hillpeople were once called, were in their garage gig phase -- they had a lot of time on their young hands. So they spend countless summer days in the reaches of the ominous hills. No one else dared go up in fear of being devoured by the famished lions. This was how their summer was spent till they started playing shows as Something Savage midway thru this schoolyear. Finally realizing their identity later, they converted to Hillpeople whom they are to this day.
