how can i possibly see enough of the world before it has had enough of me? how can i gain some credibility? how can i gain your trust? i know things too how to remain quiet enough without looking confused how to fool foreigners into thinking i am a native who doesn't waste words speaks only when it is absolutely necessary i am every nationality i know the history and culture and currency conversions that you do not at the very least i can make others believe i do i can make you believe in god by telling you your beliefs are true i can make you believe in ghosts by blowing cool air on your neck rattling your windows rising from the dead to haunt you as long as you live if thats what it takes for you to take me seriously i cannot sing beautifully i can moan and bellow mimic the dead and keep calling to you keep calling you fool you into blind acceptance of the supernatural you will thank me in the end be grateful for having been haunted i only hope for that level of high regard that i might haunt even the faintest of my acquaintances perhaps a few whom i had intended to haunt to make them regret to make them wish for more of me to make them wonder how it was that i escaped their grasp how i was so handsome so inept so unassuming so massive to make them wonder if i ever owned anything worth owning loved anything worth dying for perhaps i did but the point is to always keep everyone wondering guessing worrying to keep them breathing the slightest of them who breathes when i no longer do and remembers me with a question or two unanswered that kind of mystery that lasts forever i won't know the difference i'll be at rest
