reading, lately mostly about having and raising children and all the things that goes with that. writing, mostly poetry and long endless rants and ramblings in the journal. taking pictures with my awesome camera that i still don't know how to use. talking to people that either make me laugh or make me smarter, preferably both. listening to all types of music. singing, and very badly might i add. and an occasional party night never hurt anyone.
all of the red sox, and pedro martinez. michael moore, and i'm not referring to my boyfriend but the other fatter and smarter michael moore. johnny depp because he is so very fine. tim burton because he is a creative genius. ani difranco because she is a super-hero. martin luther king jr. and malcom x if they were still living because they, too, are super-heros. barak obama because he is the next tangible hero. and goerge bush so i can ask him questions that he can't answer and confuse him with big words, then laugh at his idiotic reply until i realize that it's not funny because he's being serious and in charge of our country and this is not an episode of saturday night live, although i don't think anyone could do a better job portraying a ridiculously unintelligent and uncompassionate human being with laughably more stupid answers to real and important questions all while being a money and power hungry red-neck who only thinks of himself and those closest to him, and probably not even them most of the time. then i would kick him in the bizzalls. just cause i was there and i could.
ani, ani, ani, she's my fav. of course there are many, MANY others who are great too, to name a few: sublime, incubus, no doubt, radiohead, modest mouse, the used, the red hot chili peppers, the foo fighters, my chemical romance, muse, tool, a perfect circle, greenday, rancid, the mars volta, cat power, ricki lee jones, the black eyed peas, outkast, eminem, jack johnson, bob marley, jimi hendrix, the doors, led zeppelin, joni mitchell, billie holiday, betty carter, ella fitzgerald, miles davis, john coltrane, and of couse, billy idol. yeah, i s'pose that's naming more than a few, but hey, what can you do?
all time favorite: how the grinch stole christmas, the OG cartoon and none of that jim carey shananogans. other greats: good will hunting, requiem for a dream, big fish, eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, willy wonka and the chocolate factory (the OG one), the little mermaid, the rules of attraction, waking life, edward scissorhands, the nightmare before christmas, pulp fiction, both kill bills, donnie darko, the usual suspects, resovior dogs, the notebook, fight club, fear and loathing in las vegas, the machinist, and many more which my ever-forgetful mind won't let me recall at the moment.
gilmore girls, red sox games, all my children, grey's anatomy, so you think you can dance, desperate houswives, the simpsons, supernanny, friends, and, of course, i dream of jeanie and i love lucy.
best of all: the giving tree and the lorax, but anything by shel silverstien or dr. suess is almost equally wonderful and amazing. some older people books: the rules of attraction, the good people of new york, out of the girlsroom and into the night, candy, go ask alice, the bell jar, the end of nature, stupid white men, what to expect the first year (although what to expect when your expecting is, in my opinion, a big piece of shite), sex drugs and cocoa puffs, anything by david sedaris, and my favorite one, a heartbreaking work of staggering genius. books, like movies, are another thing that i can't quite recall in a 5 minute time period of thinking. there's been 23 years of reading (and reading a LOT) to try to sift through, and that takes more brain power than i have since becomming a mom.
my mom, my sister mia, my grampie and, of course, ani difranco.
