Jungle Swing

I am here for Friends

About Me

Jungle Swing provides lessons in vintage, vernacular jazz dances such as Charleston (partner and solo), Lindy Hop, Balboa, the Cakewalk, and the more modern, funky West Coast Swing, as well as vintage jazz dances The Big Apple, The Tranky Doo, The Shim Sham Shimmey, and other lesser known routines.

My Interests

Showing people a good time and getting them out on the social dance floor. Staying true to the roots of Lindy Hop and related dances while celebrating the living, inspiring, passionate dance it continues to be.

I'd like to meet:

Dancers, aspiring dancers, people curious about dance, musicians, and fans of jazz, be it hot, trad, modern, big band or small group: as long as it's got that swing!

Music:

Jazz, especially if it swings. Blues, soul, and R&B, too. Count Basie, Sidney Bechet, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington, Jimmie Lunceford, Woody Herman, Benny Goodman, Hot Lips Page, Aretha Franklin, Billie Holliday, Barbara Morrison, Chick Webb, Benny Moten, Jack Teagarden, Lionel Hampton, ...

Movies:

Hellzapoppin', Day At The Races, Keep Punchin', contemporary performance and competition clips, and anything else with inspiring dance scenes.
