Tangoting- for trashed hearts.If you want to feel alive, the blood flowing through your veins, if you feel the hunger for love or the intensity of heartaches and jealousy - Tangoting is the perfect band for you.They have the passionate rhythms, text and melodies of the tango, based on the argentinian tradition - but using all kinds of songs that suits the dramatic tango style. In their own way, they have put the tango feeling to songs like Bachelorette (Björk), You oughta know (Alanis Morisette), Svårt att säga nej/Liber tango (Bo Kaspers Orkester), Jolene (Dolly Parton) and Here for now (Ani Di Franco). It is amazing to see what happens to these songs in the transformation prosess. Of course they also play the music of great masters like Gardel and Piazolla.Like in the early days of the tango style, the band also have a dose of humour in their music, to make the contrasts even greater. They are known to make a great atmosphere, bringing the audience into their abundant musical universe.Background:They all met in Trondheim World Music Band at the Music Department, Trondheim University (NTNU). This was how they found out they had a common interest in tango, and Tangoting had their debut in 2003. Since then they have played on many tango happenings, festivals, own concerts and other occations, always receiving great feedback from their audience.The four ladies have their master degrees in music from the NTNU, and backgrounds from other bands like Lassie n the lads, Apes&Babes, Hopalong Knut and composing theatre music.The first half of 2009, Kristin is on maternity leave, and Tangoting is working as a trio in this period of time.
