Genocide is the deliberate and systematic destruction of a racial, political, or cultural group...*DID YOU KNOW*Every single day, the over 2 and a half million people that were forced from their homes in Darfur more than face threats of diseases, rape and starvation?While the ones not chased from their homes (the "lucky ones") risk torture and murder while they wait in silence for someone to break down their door and find them there.*This is not a possibility, but a PROMISE!*At least 400,000 people have been killed, more than 2 million innocent civilians have been forced to leave their homes and now live in displaced-persons camps in Sudan or in refugee camps in Chad. More than 3 million rely on international aid for basic survival--more often than not, it is not enough.*Not since the Rwandan genocide of '94 has the world seen such a display of torture, rape and mass slaughter.*With much international pressure the DPA (Darfur Peace Agreement) was brokered in 2006 between the government of Sudan and a small fraction of Darfur rebeles. Since then, deadlines have come and gone--deadlines ignored and the violence escaladed.*PLAN A HAS FAILED, LETS MOVE TO PLAN B SHALL WE?"International experts agree that sending a protective force into these areas is more than a must to offer whatever form of protection and humanitarian aid they can to the displaced INNOCENT people effected by what can only be called a GENOCIDE!*You can take action to make sure this happens!*At the very least, sign the petition on the link I've listed below--and if you are so inclined, which I hope that you are, please take a moment to read the information available to you.Ask yourselves this, if this was happening in your country and your under-funded governments had no way to even begin to control this slaughter and torture, would you not wonder why the rest of the world stood by and did nothing?I call on you do the following:Strengthen the understaffed and overwhelmed African Union peacekeeping force already in Darfur.Push for the deployment of a strong UN peacekeeping force.AND Increase humanitarian aid and ensure access for aid delivery.
