‘And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.' (Romans 12:2 NKJV)
The Trans-4-maz are a Christian youth group that minister the Word of God through translating it into dance, drama, and song, that it may impact the lives of fellow youths. We do not specifically target believers or unbelievers but allow the Spirit of God to lead us. For as Paul writes, under the influence of the Holy Spirit, ‘we must be all things to all men, that we may save some.’ This, in conjunction with Roman 12:2 which Trans-4-maz is based upon, as is written above, gives us a very clear direction in that the renewal of the mind is required both inside, as well as outside the church.
However, this ministry is specifically geared towards youths aged between 13-19 years old. It is during these teenage years that the message of non-conformity needs to be invoked, as peer pressure increases, and this spirit of conformity to the world arises and establishes itself in many areas of the lives of teenage youths. This is inclusive of the language predominantly used in the world, to the music that is listened to, and the types of leisure activities that are popular to indulge in at that age. The mandate of Trans-4-maz is to shed light upon these things that seem harmless and innocent by using common situations and experiences that we have known or seen. The advantage of working with youths who are currently in high contact with the world due to daily commitments such as school, college and university is that they are aware of exactly what is occurring and the mentalities of youths. This effectively removes the safeguard excuse whereby teenagers claim, ‘You don’t know what it’s like these days, and things have changed.’ We bring modern improvisations and re-enactments as they regularly occur ‘these days.’
Primarily our goal is to minister the unadulterated Word of God to teenagers that there may be a renewal of mind and the youths of today will be truly empowered to take over the next generation. Following this vision w do not expect to be limited to London or even England. We know that the God we serve is a big God who does things large scale, and as Trans-4-maz grows and becomes more established we believe that the Spirit of God will lead us to minister in different countries. This in itself will require dedication and spiritual aptitude form all of our members as this is a ministry and not an entertaining performing arts group.
