my name is jake crombie-varisco. i am a sound engineer, stage manager, and festival coodinator. i grew up in the golden age of portland music, the early 90's. at some point in my younger years i decided i wanted to be a part of "the show". i saw how much fun the promoters and people behind the scenes were having. and they were the ones working. they worked hard so they could sit back and feel good about themselves because they were a part of this great show, the crowd is enjoying this moment in time. i want that too.Part of my plan includes the creation of a "musical mafia", a "fun mob". A network of entertainment that i can use to create an atmosphere and theme that fits the gathering that i have in mind, not just grab names out of a hat. this also helps to expand people's musical horizons by mixing bands of somewhat similar genres.bands can use the music mafia and gmc friend groups to network with other groups, to share ideas, opening gigs, equipment, a bass player, and grow. This connects to my fathers plan for the G.M.C. or the glencullen music coalition. this is a grouping of people who work in every aspect of the music and festival experience. from bands to coordinators, from vendors to security we can help your show work better. we have been doing this for ten years now, so we have been through alot. we have contacts in every aspect of the entertainment business, to where in a few quick calls or emails we could create a show, a good show, "the show" anywhere, anytime, in fairly short notice.summer 2008 promises to be even better. i already have festivals planned, including the organic brewers festival, the alberta art hop and the alberta street fair, the bite of oregon, the house of blues concert series at maryhill winery, and of course whatever trouble i can get into out at our home away from home at hornings hideout. Background by EditingMySpace.com
