On April 2nd, 2005, 4Kings Entertainment embarked on what would become a Major Turning point in the way that LIVE MUSIC would be presented to the People. Recognized in the City of Atlanta as well as throughout the world as a force for Cultural Integrity and Responsibility, 4Kings Entertainment unveiled, THE MIGHTY MIGHTY BEAT DOWN - a Monthly Beat Battle Royale that formerly took place @ The APACHE CAFE during our Weekly Tuesday has recently moved and takes place Each & Every 1ST WEDNESDAY of The MONTH @ SUGAR HILL NIGHT CLUB during THE WORLD FAMOUS MIC CLUB - Atlanta's 1 & Longest-Running MC/PERFORMANCE & PRODUCER Battle Show. The show pits up & coming producers against one another, in an effort to, acquire the show’s most precious commodity, the ATTENTION, RESPECT & EARS of the audience, as well as, MONEY, POWER & RESPECT.
Our latest Innovation at The WFMC is The BEHIND THE BOARDS series.
Through the BEHIND THE BOARDS series, we here at 4Kings Entertainment, attempt to establish an environment that is Educational, as well as, Entertaining. We book a Legendary &/or A-List HIP HOP Producer to come in and give a 45 Minute showcase set. But this is the only conventional part of the experience. Through the course of the 45 Minute Set, the Producer is set on stage with all of the necessary equipment (MPC's, SP-12, ASR-10, Technics 1200, etc,.) used to create some of their most well received pieces of Work that the Public may or may not even know that they created. While we feel that every lover of music can associate a particular moment in their lives with a single piece of music. We also know that every piece of music has a story of it's own. Questions like, "What was the energy like in the studio with this Artist?" "How did You come across this sample?" "Why that particular loop?" "Why that beat for that Artist?" And so forth and so on...). And, who better to tell that story than the Producer that created the Music? That's what were attempting to do and that's what the BEHIND THE BOARDS set is all about. We're talking about 4-5 Songs broken down to provide some insight and inspiration to a whole new generation of Hip Hop Heads and for a Finale, the Producer either sneak previews some new material or performs a new &/or upcoming piece of music set for release. This is like nothing you've ever seen or experienced before. We feel that this is the Next Level of live entertainment and 4Kings Entetainment is leading the way.
Throughout the History of Hip-Hop Culture, when the music began to migrate from the parks to the recording studios, the Producer was there. Most notable in Hip-Hop’s younger years were production titans such as, Marley Marl, Afrikka Bammbaataa, TC Islam, Rick Rubin, Grandmaster Flash & the Bomb Squad. As Hip-Hop got older names such as, Pete Rock, Ali Shaheed Muhammad, Prince Paul, DJ Premier, Dr. Dre, Diamond D. & Herbie “LuvBug†Azor, began to emerge and take the sound to another level. As the culture began to transform and shape itself names such as, Jay Dee, Timbaland, Jazzy Pha, MadLib, Just Blaze, Scott Storch, The Neptunes & Kanye West have moved to the forefront.
Now as we face the next movement in music, the Industry, as well as, its consumers are desperately searching to find the next BIG sound. The MIGHTY MIGHTY BEAT DOWN is providing an entertaining and educational platform for the entire spectrum of the Music Business. From Label Exec to Consumer, any and everyone can take something away from the MIGHTY MIGHTY BEAT DOWN and ingrain it into their life.
