Words of Wisdom: God keeps his promise, and he will not allow you to be tested beyond your power to remain firm; at the time you are put to the test, he will give you the strength to endure it and so pride you with a way out.

People don't play sports because its fun. Ask any athlete, most of them hate it, but they couldn't imagine their life with out it. Its part of them, the love/hate relationship. Its what they live for. They live for the practices, parties, cheers, long bus rides, invitationals, countless pairs of different types of shoes, water, Gatorade/Powerade, & coaches you hate but appreciate. They live for the way it feels when they beat the other team, and knowing those two extra sprints they ran in practice were worth it. They live for the way they become a family with their team, they live for the countless songs(I'm A Survivor) they sing in their head while training all those hours. They live for the competition, they live for the friends, the practices, the memories, the pain, its who they are. It's who we are. WE ARE ATHLETES ...
RUNNING: A sport that is superior to most other sports. A sport where you have to push yourself hard and no one else can. Usually made fun of by people who can't even survive a basic half-mile warmup. No timeouts, no halftimes, no substitutions, no benchwarmers. This is a sport, not a game. Runners often get disrespected by their peers because nobody understands them or doesn't care about what they do and how much they have to suffer from a grueling race. A feeling of self satisfaction and achievement follows with each victorious race, a feeling that only runners can understand. There's a reason as to why other sports are called "games", Running is not a game. It takes real dedication to BE the best, and you CAN be the best if you are willing to put in the hard work. It's one of the few sports where hard work can defeat talent. Anyone who disagrees is obviously not a runner. The word "athlete" comes from the original sport of track and field.
