Natahlee was born in Barbados on October 26, 1973. Possessing a natural flair for the Arts, Natahlee broke on to the entertainment scene in 1995 with her chant on 'Thundah' written by Edwin Yearwood for Coalishun.From that moment on, groups from across the region were calling to have her perform on their releases.Natahlee was approached by top Caribbean producer, Leston Paul, to do a track he had written for Trinidad Carnival 1995 - 'Weakness For Sweetness'. After this release, Natahlee instantly became a hot item. This was just what she needed to catapult her into the world of entertainment. She performed in the Spektakula calypso tent and at the first ever Bajan Invasion show and then, the song was remixed and signed to EMI Records.Shortly afterwards, Natahlee performed in New York, at an EMI concert which was dominated by Jamaican artistes. She was very well received by the audience which was also predominantly Jamaican. 'Weakness For Sweetness' was followed by 'I Gotta Dance', written by top Barbadian composer and singer, Stedson Wiltshire and 'Yardie Jump', both massive hits on RHP releases 'Spirit of the Rhythm' - Vol. 1 and 2 for Crop Over 1997. She placed second in the Party Monarch finals of that year with 'I Gotta Dance'.Never one to stay still, Natahlee recorded 'Do Wey Yuh Want' with Leston Paul for Trinidad Carnival 1998 and 'Wukkin' Party' - another Red Plastic Bag composition for Crop Over of the same year, on the RHP release 'Spirit of the Rhythm' - Vol. 3. Her 1999 Crop Over release, 'Fire In De Soca', is truly a fiery and spicy number which incorporates not only ragga soca but latin and zouk rhythms as well. She also displays her fluency in both French and Spanish on this track. This is also done on the 'Colours Of Christmas' compilation album which features Natahlee doing two tracks, including a version of 'Silent Night' in French. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in French with a minor in Spanish from the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus.Natahlee also did a remake of 'Sugar Bum Bum' with Lord Kitchener in 1999 and was blessed with the opportunity to perform it with him, at home, on the Barbadian stage.Through hard work and dedication, Natahlee has stayed at the top since she began her career. She was signed to the HP label from September 1997 until January 2001 and the record label released her debut solo album 'Take This' in May 1998. This album is testament to Natahlee's versatility, as it captures her various moods and moments. RHP also produced videos from the CD.Since her involvement in Crop-Over, she has been a finalist in the Party Monarch competition and a Semi-Finalist in the 1999 Pic-O-De-Crop competition. Natahlee joined the House Of Soca calypso tent in 1994 as a backing vocalist and from 1995 until 1998, she worked with the Tent as a lead vocalist. In 1999, she became a member of the Virgin Atlantic Headliners and it was with them that she performed in 2000 and 2001. Again she made the Party Monarch Finals in both these years and released solid material as usual- "Time Longer Than Twine", "Do My Ladies" and "Tickle My Fancy".Natahlee's accolades are wide and varied. She has won Best Female Vocalist at the Nation Awards, Barbados, 1995; Best Female Artiste, 1996 at the Caribbean Music Awards; Best Female Soca Artiste at the Reggaesoca Music Awards, Miami, 1996. She has also claimed Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, Bronze and Silver Awards in the National Independence Festival of Creative Arts (NIFCA) and has received the Positive Young Barbadian Award of Recognition from the National Cultural Foundation of Barbados.Upon completing her studies at Queen's College, Natahlee joined the Green Room Players Theatre in 1992 and has participated in several theatrical productions on the Barbadian stage including Laff-It-Off 1994. In addition, she has done countless voice-overs for local and regional establishments.Natahlee has performed throughout the Caribbean and South America- Trinidad, Grenada & Carriacou, The Grenadines (Union Island and Bequia), St. Lucia, Jamaica, Anguilla, The Bahamas (Nassau & Freeport), Dominica, Suriname and Guyana and, of course, at home in Barbados as well as Canada- Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa and the USA- New York, Miami and Washington D.C. She has recorded with the likes of Arrow from Montserrat, Square One of Barbados, Dread and the Baldhead from Antigua, South South West of Suriname, and Mega Banton and Ricky General from Jamaica.In 1999, she was part of the Barbadian contingent on the Spirit of Unity Tour. She is a former member of the Plantation Band which performs every Wednesday and Friday at the Plantation Garden Theatre, Barbados.Natahlee is one of the leading studio vocalists in the Caribbean and has recorded backing vocals with more artistes, groups and producers, than could ever be listed here.Natahlee - a truly amazing talent, doing great things in entertainment and destined for even greater.
