AlexQ (Sikander Gore) has been djing in NZ for over 4 years now and am established as a truely exciting and enthusiastic electro (electronic) dj.AlexQ burst onto the Auckland scene 4 years ago and has been tearing up dance floors ever since. He brings a level of energy that is rarely seen behind the decks, and is by far one of the most approachable Dj’s out there.Q: So why AlexQ ?A: When Alexander the Great moved into India, The Indians weren’t able to pronounce his name. Thus, called him Sikander. Alexander is the English meaning of Sikander. And Alexander was on a quest to conquer the world. Thus AlexQ,The North Shore local is the events Manager for the Albany Students’ Association by day while busting the phattest tunes in the clubs by night. Some of the events Alex has played at include Paul Van Dyk, Slinky, Oxygen, Torque, Essential, Vaccine , One Love and Forte/Suburban Heat(Auckland’s biggest Under 18 Dance parties). . HE is a regular featured Dj at several House Bars/Clubs around Auckland. AlexQ is best known for his big driving basslines and epic build-ups. HE claims “You gotta enjoy the music you play, it reflects in your performance and the crowd draws energy off you”. “Djing is about communicating with people through music, it give you the best natural high you can imagine.”. Alex gets a kick out of playing on the same bill as DJ’s he looks up to. He used to watch the likes of Jarred Knapp (Incline Events), Greg Churchill,Grant marshall, Lucas Oliver and Daniel Farley (Torque Promotions) and now he plays before or after them.
