A little bit about Renee Turcotte...
Expression through music has been a part of Renee Turcotte since her days as a two year old growing up in Orange, California. Having such a big musical influence that began at a young age led her to study and understand music. Renee began writing poetry when she was very young. She then turned her attention to writing lyrics in 2004 and developed a style that will be best categorized as Pop/R&B.
"I’m not perfect, a little curvaceous, got my insecurities and I’m proud. I’m gunna make it tonight.." (Lyrics from "Make It Tonight") Her song writing capabilities capture the minds of not just women, but a general audience. Her lyrics say you shouldn’t worry about what other people think about you or how you look. "Life isn’t about worrying.. it’s about making things happen for yourself.. work hard for what you want and don’t let others try to break you on your way up", says the 18 year old singer. Current relevant influences include Pink, Kelly Clarkson, Joss Stone and Christina Aguilera.
What sets Renee apart? She writes her own lyrics, selects her own music, sings and is very marketable as a good role model to many young souls across the world. Her work ethic is second to none. Once she selects the music to her next song, she can usually be found in her bedroom writing for hours.
Renee Turcotte is currently recording her first solo effort in "I am..." Stay tuned for more information about this album, for it is in its very early stages of development.
