Dublife Soundsystem is the brainchild (and life blood) of Bronté â€Dublife†James, vocalist, musician & producer hailing from Salt Lake City, Utah. James has been pounding the stage for the past 8 years with Afro Omega and various other projects leading up to Dublife Soundsystem.Dublife Soundsystem is a roots reggae, dub, and electronica sound taking inspiration from both old school dub founders such as King Tubby and Jah Shaka as well as from such new school phenom’s as Dr. Israel and Heavyweight Dub Champion. Dublife’s adventurous sound takes the music beyond the limits of excess. Concentrating on stomach churning bass merged with ear piercing tops, Dublife hammers the dub home with a vengeance. With the addition of extra dimensions of sonic madness comprised of dub sirens, syndrums, multiple speakers and subs, along with ambient vocal chants all fed through a pair of tape echoes then bent into splinters of aural reverberation that fill out the room, this music takes the listener outside the realm of mere sound. The Dublife Soundsystem has been attracting a large, diverse and multi cultural audience, taking in venues which had previously been considered uncharted territory for a reggae sound system. Having been inspired by a glimpse of things to come Dublife is excited to tour the U.S. pushing the new CD release 1977 Bass Thunder which is also scheduled for a U.K. release this year.Dublife, in previous outings with groups such as Afro Omega, has shared the stage with many internationally known reggae artists such as Eek-A-Mouse, Alpha Blondy, Luciano, Toots & The Maytals, Israel Vibration, The Meditations, Dr.Israel, and Heavyweight Dub Champion. Afro Omega gave an inspiring, well received set at the 2007 NorthWest World Reggae Festival near Eugene
