You don't just decide to be an artist. It is more accurate to say that at some point you realize its what you've been doing. Looking back, for me it all started near the end of high school when i would look closely at a page of paper and gently trace the lines. Things would develop, emerge. Later I started writing poems. Songs. I was still conjuring stuff out of thin air but it was closer to home. The more I added to it the more real it seemed, and the more vital the decisions became. I think everyone has creativity. Its like a dream, just beneath the surface. All it takes is a little digging to uncover it. What makes some do it and others not? If you are a vigorous person or warm, then more often than not you will be drawn to things of the world and have no need to remember dreams. Those periods of creativity will take place as part of life. But the more prickly and ill you are the less things of the world might appeal and the more worth it it might seem to dig again just beneath the surface. It is all a question of time and how vital the decision is.
