This is how the story kinda goes: the Two Minutes Hate started out in 1998-ish as a basement jamming, 2 min. tune playing, garage (Girox) pounding machine that slowly took shape as the years went on. The members were Rob, Wes, Tyler, and bassist Steve Klippenstien. One bright and sunny day, the hate was to play a U.S. gig only to find out that Steve disappeared to Quebec. In Jan. of 2000 they picked up a metal-head who heard from a friend that the band was looking for a new player. Tested out in a room which seemed to be the size of 2 closets, Mykl was brought into the fold. After playing a number of shows for roughly 1 1/2 yrs., including a memorable U.S. night w/ Zao, Spoken and Fairweather, the band decided to record a 3 song basement demo "..the horrible thing about...". After having only 120 copies made and quickly sold, the band forged on for another year deciding to add another guitarist. In 2003 a new member was nabbed,[which ironically was fired after 1 jam, way back in '99 :p ]. In 2004 the band recorded their full length c.d. " Villains ". Terrible producing and a large lack of effort dragged the release time to a full year. Firing the slacker and taking matters into their own hands, the band re-mixed and mastered the c.d. to completion, as well as Rob creating all of the digital artwork. The end result is a fine piece of work finally released in 2005. Almost immediately after the c.d. was launched, the band was plaged with disaster. Tyler left the band on the arrival of his new born daughter. The Hate played a few shows with a good friend from a local band, Moria only for Wes to leave the band -and continent- shortly after. Now, Mykl soon started taking jobs out of town (and province) for extended periods of time. The band had completey shut down. Even as such, the Hate's c.d. "Villains " remains as an excellent example of hard work and determination when the chips were down. The band may resurface at some point of time, but there has not been any discussion on the subject recently. The music that will be on this site has been taken off of the "Villains " disk that clocks in slightly over 60 min.
