Basement is an original alternative rock band from Burbank, a south suburb of Chicago, IL. The band was formed in September 2006 when members of the former band, Joe's MoM teamed up with bassist Rob Chopik through mutual friendship. Each member brings his own style of music to the band - from early 60's Beatles to early 90's grunge to mondern day rock - to formulate sound of Basement.
The connection they share with each other influences their music and is apparent when they perform. Playing a wide range of styles and singing about any topic they choose, Basement shows their diversity all the while creating a raw show and sound filled with emotion. They have played at a variety of venues including the Elbo Room, Champs Rock Room, Big Horse, Betty's Blue Star Lounge, Illinois Institute of Technology, Northern Illinois University, and Dominican University and also have played with artists such as Scott Lucas from Local H.
Basement recorded it's first 3-song EP, STRIPSY, at Gravity Studios in Chicago late 2007. Stripsy is a combination of straightforward rhythms driven by lyrics that tap into raw human emotion.
Through their loyal fan base and newly released EP, Basement is determined to thrive in an industry where anything is possible and set the standard of the new music generation.
