Alexandréa Renee Lushington, aka Miz Alex, is a 17 year old phenomenon possessing the vocalization of a singer far beyond her years. This savvy artist has developed a four-pronged career in music, writing, acting and dance, successfully merging her talents into one charismatic package.
A Georgia peach hailing from Atlanta, Alexandréa at the age of seven began Performing at the ‘world famous’ Apollo Theater in Harlem, NY as an Apollo Kid. With a rendition of Michael Jackson’s “Who’s Loving Youâ€, she won hands down with a standing ovation and was requested to return becoming an Apollo Legend, traveling and performing with the Apollo’s live band, belting out jazz classics such as “My Funny Valentine†to standing ovation after standing ovation. In addition to the Apollo, she went on to perform on other TV shows: 106&Park, Showtime at the Apollo, and Star Search (to name a few). Alexandrea’ is such a veteran singer and performer at 16 years old that everyone who hears her sing live swears she must be lip-syncing but she’s all the way live.
As a 4 year old she began learning music from her father, Rene who studied music theory at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music and her mother, Tina who sang in the church choir. She received her vocal training from none other than the renowned Ms. Robin Brownwho also taught Usher, Monica, TLC, Xscape as well as many other notables. Ms. Brown also teaches her piano lessons.
Miz Alex’s songs showcases her powerful and soulful voice with numerous Pop/Rock/Soul songs, containing infectious, radio-friendly, catchy hooks, memorable vocals, ample grooves and solid, professional production. She is also a studio veteran, recording for ten years.
At age 11 she was called to a private meeting with the one and only Ahmet Ertegün(founder of Atlantic Records) who has, in the past, discovered such talent s as Ray Charles and Aretha Franklin. After hearing Alex sing live in a private ballroom in the Ritz Carlton Hotel, he was amazed. "I would love to work with Alex when she gets little older..." (Ertegün). We will miss him dearly. Her demo was produced in several places: Miami by Emilio Estefan & Sebastian (Gloria Estefan), Atlanta by Sam Sims (Janet Jackson, Cher, Bette Midler, J. Lo, Mariah Carey) and Professor Ray Grant (Taught poetry at Spelman College, Tuskegee University),Shawn "Sha'Kim" Williams, Theo, New York by Free, and Detroit by Marlon and Joyce McNichols.
Miz Alex is a requested National anthem singer for the New York Yankees, Atlanta Braves, New York Mets, Boston Red Sox, Atlanta Hawks, Detroit Pistons.
And, she has performed from coast to coast, including Orlando, Portland, New York, Jacksonville, Florida for the President of the United States, Chicago (Isaac Hayes’ Jazz Club), Washington D.C. (opened for Aaron Carter), and Los Angeles. She won a supporting role in the Broadway musical, “Annie†that played at the fabulous Fox Theatre in Atlanta.
Just recently,however, Alexandrea has been one of the top 20 finalists of season 7 of the hit TVshow, "American Idol". She is known for her performance singing Chicago's "If You Leave Me Now" and her most popular rendition of Blood, Sweat, and Tears', "Spinnin Wheel". Now days Alexandréa spends her time still working hard on her music. She’s now venturing off into writing and producing her on songs and perfecting her skills on the piano. As far as her acting goes, she is currently with MTM Model and Talent Agency (a branch of John Casablancas). In her spare time she loves to not only write new songs, but write stage plays (one already completed). She’s even started on her own screenplay. She likes reading Archie Comic books and books that are about music, scriptwriting and the business. She’s outgoing and fun to work with and is ready for the industry and ready to cast a spell on live audiences across the globe awakening them to THE NEXT BIG THING
