About Me

My musicianship accommodates a diversity of styles, ranging from the jazzier idiom, through groovy soul/funk/hip hop, (paired with futuristic extensions of the above, such as the godsend life-giving injection by the name of Drum & Bass) to pop & rock. I'm PERVIOUSLY addicted to polyrhythms and when my subconscious rhythmical imagination comes up with a spine-tingling combination (within the groove, of course!) it's some thousand and one times more pleasurable to me than sex – or am I just lame in the sack, who knows? (It strikes me now that the above anomaly c o u l d be remedied by taking »it« beyond playing with myself)

My Interests

Band Members:I play with quite a few temporary projects and I'm amenable to broaden my horizon of musical genres, like when I for instance recently finally got the incitament to dig deeper into the afro-cuban styles, owing to the gigs with Salsa Helada. Occasionally I also carry out the duties of double booked drummers in various bands. (Ever heard about the song »[session]drummers delight«?) ------------------------------------------------------------ -----------------------------------------I'm a steady part of the not easely labelled 'Dangerwalk' and the more, for the man in the street, accessible Mango. Although my participation in the following acts are more or less held in abeyance, I've also been a part of (or probably am, for that sake) Erica Skogen Band, the collaborations with saxophonist Marcus Ernehed and – last but not least – Bronkenstein, whose command of the Hammond B3 is only matched by his teleboarding skills.
Influences: »Influx-wise« generally speaking, I'm right now heavily into Drum & Bass and Hip Hop, as well as Salsa and jazz. (and thus catching up on the classics in the seemingly unmanageable world of broken beats) However, considering »omnivore« to be the most adequate denomination of my »music listening profile«, I have a very non-pretentious approach, as long as the groove is there (or the particular tune bear other, more or less elusive, qualities)If obliged to drop names, the ones, of which my drumming can bewray certain contributions, that spontaneously comes up in my mind, include such gentlemen as Stuart, Garibaldi, Donati, Smith, Weckl, Bozzio, DeJohnette, Rabb, Harrison among uncountable others.Last but not least, I draw barely measurable inspiration from my wide variety of non-musical interests, including living the dream (albeit the light version) of a free skieur, reading, etc...
