This independent band has been opening for established and up-and-coming acts (The Miniatures, Pat Robitaille, Suzie McNeil), as well as playing numerous festivals along the way. In early 2006, State of Sound earned a spot in Xtreme Bandslam and had the opportunity to perform at Canadian Music Week in Toronto, Ontario. Also in 2006, the band took part in their own headlining tour with friends Autumn Eve, which opened doors to new fans from across the province. State of Sound is best known for their vintage-vibe and honest approach to their songs. Past songs such as “Audacity”, “8 O’Clock” & “The Way You Are” have seen Canadian airplay.
Over the years, the band has grown as people and as musicians. With influences from a wide variety of musical cultures and classes, the new material that the band has written is a more natural & vintage sound. In the spring of 2007, State of Sound teamed up with close friend & producer Shawn Moore to record their new album with plans to create a more distinct rock sound. Producer Nick Blagona (Rush,Tea Party,The Police,Bryan Adams) also came on board to master the album.
