KERRANG! MAG REVIEW - SEPT 08:
SOULS

KKK
MELODIC BUT IMAGINATIVE FUZZ ROCK FROM ENG-ER-LAND.
SOULS MAKE a sound that is like rock music wrapped up in an electric blanket. With thick, warm guitars and bass heavy drums, this music is of the opiate variety rather than squawky treble-punk looking to score some speed. But what stops Simple Terms And Conditions, the quartets second album, from sounding too much like a bomb going off in a swamp is the strength of the songs. There's something hypnotic and even unsettling about hearing a man singing 'I'm weak to the core' (Infiltrate) when it's been recorded in such a way that it sounds as if he's whispering it in your ear. At its best, this is very good stuff.

ROCK SOUND MAG REVIEW - SEPT 08:
SOULS

Part Autolux, part Nirvana; this debut album isn't as bad as the artwork suggests. It may sound dated in places, but it's a decent first attempt despite the predictability throughout. The influences are far too obvious, but overall it's energetic, raw and enjoyable. [JW]
