A bout
T HE DEAF SCENEThe Deaf Scene is an experimental/psychedelic rock band comprised of four musicians from the Baltimore metro area.
Formed in the ever-growing Baltimore underground scene in 2007, The Deaf Scene has worked diligently to create music and live performances that set them apart from the alt-rock normalcy that is found too often in the Baltimore area. With influence stemming from bands such as A Perfect Circle, Dredg, Radiohead, Deftones, and Incubus, their music has been best described by fans and friends as conceptual, experimental rock with psychedelic undertones.
In the past year, The Deaf Scene’s consistent show schedule has kept them busy in both the Baltimore and Washington DC areas, performing at venues such as Sonar’s Main Stage, The Recher Theatre, and The 8x10 Club where they quickly became a local favorite of 8x10 owner and local scene supporter Brian Shupe. In addition, The Deaf Scene has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with several national touring acts including Dead Confederate, Colour Revolt, Farewell Flight, Showbread, and Pasadena.
Most recently, The Deaf Scene finished recording and producing their debut full-length album called “Looking Down at the Sky†with Non-Such Productions in Bowie, MD. The album is a seamless unification of songs with similar underlying themes of conspiracy, over zealousness, identity, and altered reality. With plans of touring within the next year with songs off of “Looking Down at the Sky†as well as some new songs, The Deaf Scene hopes to become a recognizable face in the independent music market.
