About Me

found this animal layout at HOT FreeLayouts.comMy husband, Mike, and I are hoping to give our love, guidance and a home to an adopted child. We are a Christian couple and have been married for 9 years. After many years of fertility problems, treatments and procedure imaginable, we have turned towards adoption. It now seems that it was our destiny to become adoptive parents in the first place. We have been in the midst of the adoption process for the past three years and have completed our homestudy through Holy Family Services Adoption and Foster Care, based in Los Angeles, California. This is the private agency that we are working with. We would love to hear from prospective Birthmothers who have unselfishly decided to have their child adopted by a loving couple. This adoption would have to be facilitated through Holy Family Services. We have recently purchased our very first home...a lovely Ranch Style house in the Mojave Desert. Our home is on a lake in the front and has a beautiful view of a Desert Wildlife Preserve in the back. Our private community also has a 27 hole Championship Golf Course and Equestrian Center. (A rescue horse in the future?)Although, I am a stay at home wife (and hopeful soon-to-be mom), I run auctions on eBay to help raise the ever growing expenses for the adoption and to buy things we will need for the baby. My eBay user name is: vintagetattooedlady. I sell anything I can get my hands on, from new clothing, vintage collectables, to my own Artwork/Craftwork....check it out!My husband is newly retired from the military, as a Master Sergeant and had been deployed twice during our marriage. He has now made the transition of retirement from the Army to working with the military as a civilian, Net Ops / Computer Security Instructor. This is a decision he has made after much consideration for our family. No more deployments!...THOUGH HE WAS PROUD TO SERVE FOR 23 YEARS!I have a 15 year old step-daughter named Kayleigh, from Mike's previous marriage. She is one of the "lights of our lives". She lives rather far away, but we see her as often as we can, whether she flies down to see us or we drive up to see her. She is a most unusual child, being very smart, kind, moralistic, sensitive, patient, generous and understanding. I often refer to her as our "alien teenager", as she is like no other teen I have met lately. She must genetically take after her father, as my husband also possesses these qualities.Other "lights of our lives" would be our 4 lovable rescue dogs...Sadie, Wolfgang, Skeeter June and the most recent, Pearl.I am studying Dutch Language, Latin Dance and Tattoo techniques at the moment. I have studied Belly Dance, Computer Sciences and Spanish Language in the most recent past.I am an artist, designing High-end Tattoo Art for myself and friends. I also paint and am writing and illustrating a children's book for publication. I collect religious and Hispanic artwork. I love the beach, the surf and warm weather. My husband, loves the mountains, the snow and cooler weather. Needless to say, we have had to do some compromising in this...however, we both LOVE the Desert (and chose to move to the Mojave), The Hot Springs, Swing Dancing to our Favorite Rockabilly and Country Swing bands, Hockey, European Soccer (Mike played in France and England for the American School of Paris and my Dutch Grandfather played professionally in the Netherlands), Humor/Laughing (my husband is a natural born comic), Golf, Vintage Car Restoration, Old Furniture Restoration, Outdoor Concerts, Car & Motorcyle Shows, Boating (we own a '87 SeaRay Seville), Traveling with our '65 Teardrop Trailer and Overseas...and most importantly WE LOVE AND CHERISH EACH OTHER!Mike and I are members of the Humane Society and the ASPCA, and we do volunteer work and donate to the cause on a regular basis. My husband is one of my heros. We have been through alot in our life together. He rolls with the ups and downs and never stops smiling. He is a rock... unwavering in his devotion to me, the Lord, our adoption and our family. I believe that when my mother passed away, she sent my husband to love and protect me.So my greatest ambitions are to be a good wife and mother, good Christian, good friend and champion to all animals...not lofty, but sincere.
