Bare Knuckle Bear

The Family Band. Bare Knuckle Bear formed when two brothers came together in their basement to, for the first time in years, play their instruments together. The older of the two, the drummer, had been wandering for some time. Having been stifled by the dusty road and frustrated by the less than psychedelic tunes his neighbors sang, was ready to sit down and play something sweet. The younger of the two, the singer and guitarist, after playing the southern riverbanks to whisky-soaked-shit-kickers hadn't heard his brother play since high school. So, he played something down low and soulful. It sat with the drummer brother just right, swinging about under a thumping base drum just enough to let it groove. "This might work" they both thought. Soon after, they adopted their bass player, and moved in with him, completing the family triangle, the trio of toe-headed soulful rockers carrying with them a desire to hear and play the tunes they loved and would love. All three of them, having agrred with so much music in their time, did not stick to any convention or style, but instead bred together genres and influences to spawn an eclecticism in both song and set that is electric and dynamic. Over the past year, their language has grown and matured into something natural and unflinching. They love to play so you love to listen.
